Attention 6th & 8th grade parents: Beginning on Monday, 3/3 through 3/20 all 6th & 8th grade students will have a mandatory scoliosis screening performed during their tribe time class. Female students are required to wear a sports bra or bathing suit top, and Male students need to wear a t-shirt for the test. Your students' tribe time teacher will notify them the day before their screening that they will be screened the next day. If you have any questions please contact the school nurse.

The purpose of the Young Georgia Authors writing competition is to encourage students to develop enthusiasm for and expertise in their writing, to provide a context to celebrate their writing successes, and to recognize student achievement in arts and academics. This prestigious competition has been engaging Georgia students for more than two decades and is open to any student currently enrolled in Georgia public schools, grades K -12. The competition is sponsored by the Georgia Language Arts Supervisors (GLAS) and the Georgia RESA Network with support from the Georgia Department of Education.
SCMHS is proud to recognize these students for their achievement in writing!

On Thursday, February 13th, Work-Based Learning (WBL) student Hannah Snider, along with Assistant Principal Jessica Lanier, had the honor of delivering heartfelt Valentine's Day cards to several local nursing homes. These cards were carefully created by the students and staff of Seminole County Middle/High School, each one filled with messages of warmth, kindness, and love. The initiative not only spread joy to the residents but also gave our students a meaningful opportunity to engage in community service and show their appreciation for the elderly. This act of giving reflects the compassionate spirit of our school and serves as a reminder of the positive impact we can make when we come together to share moments of love and care.
