Congratulations to Jonathan Jarvis on signing with Brewton-Parker College to continue his baseball career! Jonathan, a talented athlete at Seminole County High School, has been an integral part of our baseball team throughout high school. He will be joining the Brewton-Parker Barons this fall. We are proud of Jonathan’s hard work and dedication, and we wish him all the best as he takes this next step in his athletic and academic journey. Best of luck, Jonathan!

SCMHS Students Win Top Honors at State Social Studies Fair
Katherine Lanier and Jacob Smith earned statewide recognition at the State Social Studies Fair on Saturday, May 3rd. They were honored with the Social Impact Award and named Best in Discipline for Class II for their project investigating the awareness of mental health resources available to students. A huge appreciation to the many individuals who assisted them with surveys and interviews throughout the research process!
Middle School Softball tryouts begin tomorrow, May 6th at 3:45 on the softball field. Must have an updated physical to tryout.

2025 Visual Arts Showcase Winners
SCMHS students exhibited their work in the 2nd annual visual arts showcase. Over 60 entries were judged in five categories, including painting, drawing, mixed media, 3-dimensional art, and photography. Special thanks to Mrs. Sarah Avery for judging.
It's wonderful to see SCHS Teaching as a Profession students actively engaging in community service by supporting Seminole County Head Start's field day, where they helped set up activity stations and created a fun and exciting environment for the children. Such experiences not only foster practical teaching skills but also strengthen community bonds and inspire future educators. Thank you to Head Start for including these talented students in your special day!
We are excited to announce that Kendall Denham has been recognized as one of the Top 7 "Most Positive High School Athletes" in the state of Georgia for her sport of girls' golf! This prestigious honor reflects Kendall's dedication, sportsmanship, and positive attitude both on and off the course. She has been a standout athlete, embodying the true spirit of teamwork and excellence. Congratulations, Kendall, on this well-deserved achievement! We are proud of you and all you've accomplished this season! Go Indians!
The first Friday in May is School Lunch Hero Day, dedicated to those men and women who make the cafeterias and the schools a better place to be! Here at SCMHS, we are very thankful for our entire cafeteria staff!

The Whiskers and Tails Club recently visited the Wild Animal Safari in Pine Mountain, Georgia, just outside Columbus. During their trip, the students had the opportunity to explore a 500-acre park filled with a wide variety of animals from around the world. The group participated in the drive-through safari, where they saw animals like giraffes, zebras, and camels up close. They also explored the walkable zoo area, where they observed Bengal tigers, African lions, and other exotic species. The visit provided an exciting, hands-on learning experience about wildlife and conservation. It was a fun and educational day that the students will remember!
