SCMHS Senior Majorettes and Dance Line are ready for the 2020 season!
SCMHS Senior Majorettes and Dance Line are ready for the 2020 season!
The first day of school for students will be pushed back one week to Wednesday, August 12th. Senior Dinner will remain scheduled for Friday, July 31st (6:00-8:00). 6th Grade Orientation will now be scheduled for Wednesday, August 5th (5:00-6:30). You will enter from the gym doors (athletic events parking lot). Lockers can be purchased at this time so that students can practice opening their lockers before school begins ($5.00). Also, Chromebook insurance can be purchased during this time (either $15.00 per semester or $25.00 for the year - see attached Chromebook policy). Your schedule will be given to you as well. We will begin with a meeting in the cafeteria to inform everyone of new rule changes. Open House for SCMHS (grades 7-12) will now be scheduled for Thursday, August 6th (5:00-7:00). Lockers can be purchased at this time so that students can practice before school begins ($5.00). Also, Chromebook insurance can be purchased during this time (either $15.00 per semester or $25.00 for the year - see attached Chromebook policy). Your schedule will be given to you as well. You can visit the teachers in their classrooms during Open House. We will begin in the cafeteria so that everyone can hear certain new rule changes together. Offering Virtual Learning to students - as part of Seminole County School’s re-opening plan, the system is seeking applications of interest from parents to declare their interest in a full-time, distance learning model. Parents interested in declaring the full-time distance learning model need to understand that there is a semester-long commitment for distance learning and changes to each option cannot occur until the next grading period. Interest applications for students in grades K-12 must be declared by 5:00 p.m. on July 24, 2020. Each declared interested application will be reviewed by a district committee. The online application will not guarantee enrollment. In order for the full-time distance learning model to make at the K-5 level, minimum class sizes must be met. Interested parents should complete the interest application, which can be accessed through the following link: https://bit.ly/3ffK0Fq
