Future Georgia Educators Day: A Day of Inspiration and Learning
On January 29th, the Teaching as Profession students had the incredible opportunity to attend the Future Georgia Educators Day at Valdosta State University. The day was filled with inspiration, learning, and exploration, starting with a captivating session led by Holly Witcher, the 2025 Georgia Teacher of the Year. Her insights and passion for education set a motivating tone for the day ahead.
Following the opening session, students engaged in a variety of workshops designed to enhance their understanding of the teaching profession. These interactive sessions provided valuable skills and knowledge that will undoubtedly benefit them in their future careers.
In addition to the workshops, students had the chance to explore a college fair featuring ten universities from across the state. Representatives were on hand to answer questions about their education programs, helping students to make informed decisions about their academic futures.
The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the visit to VSU’s STEAM Building, where students explored the fascinating world of weather. This hands-on experience allowed them to appreciate the intersection of art and science, making learning both fun and engaging.
Overall, Future Georgia Educators Day was a memorable and educational experience, leaving students inspired and excited about their journey in the field of education.

The Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) Program, is sponsored by the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) Foundation, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, and the Georgia Department of Education. Since its inception, the STAR program has honored thousands of students and teachers selected based on their SAT scores, class standing, and scholastic averages. The STAR student is the graduating senior who has earned the highest SAT score and is in the top 10% of the graduating class.
It is with great pride that Seminole County Middle/High School announces the STAR Student and STAR Teacher for 2025. This year’s STAR student is Andrew Karter Moulton. Andrew has selected Mrs. Carol Baker as his STAR teacher. Congratulations!
