The Agricultural Technology and Equipment Career Development is a team event with four parts: Rotational Skill Practicum (electricity, woodworking, or use of an automatic level), Measuring Practicum, Tool/Equipment/Part Identification and Multiple-Choice Written Exam. Each team member completed each of the four parts of the CDE. The purpose is to provide an opportunity for students in grades 6-9 to practice those skills and abilities  developed as a regular part of the agricultural education curriculum. Tools and equipment is a measured activity containing no more than ten stations. There will also be a written test (25 questions) based on information from the designated skill area and basic safety information taken from the references  designated  by the state committee.

The skill areas are: electricity, woodworking, or reading an automatic level.

Tool Identification: 25 items, 50 points, 30 minutes long.

Measuring: 10 items, 50 points, 30 minutes long.

Written Test: 25 items, 50 points, 30 minutes long
