Coach Dirk Williams was hired at SCMHS as a football and baseball coach three years ago, and he has done a great job at everything he has been asked to do. When the legendary Coach Truette Johnson, of over twenty years coaching baseball and softball, abruptly moved into a school administration leadership role and caused a quick opening for head coach positions in baseball and softball, Coach Dirk Williams sacrificed himself to help fill coaching vacancies until younger coaches became more established. Coach Williams gave up coaching football for the last two years to help out with carrying on the softball program. He has led the softball team to state playoffs the last two seasons and we are excited to see where the program goes next. Now that some positions have shuffled and others have established themselves more within the school, Coach Williams will be returning to coaching football on Coach Stegall's staff, as well as staying on as head baseball coach.
Coach Williams has been coaching for nearly thirty years and he is in the baseball Hall of Fame at Troy University where he played baseball throughout college.
