Seminole County Student Receives State Honor
In this unprecedented year of challenges and change, State School Superintendent Richard Woods has selected 64 Georgia students to serve on his 2020-21 Student Advisory Council. According to the GADOE web site, “these middle and high school students will meet with Superintendent Woods to discuss the impact of state policies in the classroom.”
Superintendent Woods understands that now, more than ever, it is essential to speak directly with students regarding their school experiences. The group of students includes representatives from every Regional Educational Service Agency district in Georgia, and “members were selected from a pool of more than 1,400 applicants who applied to serve on the council.” We are profoundly proud that Will Walker was chosen as the representative from our RESA. His essay on ideas for public education landed him a spot on the council. Will is a student here a Seminole County Middle High school and will attend his first virtual council meeting in November.
Congratulations, Will! #TRIBE STRONG
