Seminole County High School Competed in Region 7 STAR Event Virtual Competition

For the first time since Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) was founded in 1945, members competed in Students Taking Action with Recognition (STAR) Events on the region level virtually. It was a challenge but Seminole County students accomplished the task with no complications.

STAR Events are Competitive Events in which members are recognized for their proficiency and achievement in chapter and individual projects, leadership skills, and career preparation. STAR Events allow student to compete individually or as a team. There are more than 30 STAR Events students can choose to compete in, all which recognize participants who demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and abilities to actively identify an issue concerning families, careers, or communities, research the topic, and develop and implement a project to advocate for positive change.

STAR Events aim to support student development of knowledge and skills by enhancing the classroom experience and Career Pathway initiatives by equipping students with employable skills and industry insights needed to thrive in the 21st century.

In order to advance to the national level in a STAR Event, members first compete at the region/district and state level. The top two from region advance to state.  The top two from state then advance to nationals.  Seminole County High School is so proud to announce all of our FCCLA competitors placed in the Top 2 at the region level and have advanced to state competition.  Seminole County FCCLA is in Region 7.  Our students compete against the following counties for Region:  Baker, Bibb, Calhoun, Chattahoochee, Clay, Crawford, Crisp, Decatur, Dooly, Dougherty, Early, Grady, Houston, Lee, Macon, Marion, Mitchell, Muscogee, Peach, Quitman, Randolph, Schley, Stewart, Sumter, Taylor, Terrell, Webster, and Worth.
